Following the Annual General Meeting of the Armenian Society of New Zealand, Executive Committee elections were held on 6 July 2022, as per the requirements of the Society’s constitution.
The existing team was largely re-nominated for another term, with a farewell from Armen Mkoian, and Noobar Yaghobian withdrawing his nomination for the position of chairperson after six years of loyal commitment to the role.
The nominations also included a new member, Tony Kelly and a returning member, Hermik Sookiassian, who also received a nomination for chairperson.
All nominees were unanimously elected to the Board of ASNZ for the next two years – with Hermik at the helm. Hermik takes on the role with many years of past experience on the Executive committee, not to mention as an active member of the Armenian Society since its establishment in 1995.
The team is now looking forward to working together to continue the work started in the past two years, and progress beyond this work with new and exciting initiatives outside of any pandemic restrictions in order to grow and enhance our community engagement.
